At a glance

Replit is a cloud development platform where you can build and deploy apps right in the browser, and an AI Agent builds web/mobile apps when you describe them in plain language. It works well for everyone from planners/founders who want to turn an idea into an app without knowing how to code, to developers who want to prototype quickly. From August 2026 it changed to a system of Free Mode, which uses no credits, and Power / Max Mode, where you choose the model yourself.

Full model list

Replit Agent uses different models depending on the mode. In Free Mode, Replit picks the model automatically (Auto) and you use it without credits. In Power/Max Mode, Core/Pro users can choose the model themselves, and credits are deducted. You can also adjust Effort (Low to Max) per model.

  • The model list may differ by account/organization settings/staged rollout, and even within the official docs the model names in the tables and screenshots differ (GPT-5.6 / GPT-6, Fable 5 / 5.1), so you need to check the actual selection menu.
  • In Chat there is also a (beta) feature that runs the same question on up to 4 models at once to compare them (cost is incurred for each model).
  • Replit itself does not offer separate image/video generation models, but you can add AI features inside your app with AI Integrations (Core and above).

Which plan to choose

  • Starter: Students/beginners curious about what building an app without coding is like. It is enough for making one simple app.
  • Core: Solo makers/planners who steadily build and deploy side projects or personal services. The Free Mode limit is generous, so it gives good value.
  • Pro: Startups/small teams who build complex apps with top models like Claude Opus/GPT-6 Astra, or work together with several people.
  • Enterprise: Internal tool development at companies that need security policies/SSO/control over model use.
