Effective date: October 23, 2026 (previous policy effective: October 14, 2026)

Changes taking effect on October 26, 2026: for people who agree when signing in, we will collect gender and age group (item 1), and we will turn on Google signals in Google Analytics so that we can see anonymous statistics on the gender and age group of all visitors. Items 1 and 2 below are marked with dates.

You can use Pickx (the "Site") without signing in. In no case do we directly collect personal information such as your name or contact details, and when you sign in we do not collect a password or an email address. The information that is generated automatically while we run the Site, and how we handle it, are as follows.

1. Information we handle and why

  • Access logs: IP address, browser type, time of access and the page requested. Used for server security and for finding errors.
  • Usage statistics: which services you view or click, search terms, where you came from (only the name of the previous site or the type of Pickx screen, never the full address), the search terms passed on by a search site such as Naver if you came from one, device type (phone, tablet, computer), and whether you are signed in. These are collected in a way that does not identify you and are used to improve the lists. We do not store your IP, member number or the raw browser information together with them.
  • Request box: what you write in a service addition request or a correction request, and a value derived from your IP that cannot be reversed. This is used only to prevent repeated requests. If you put contact details in a request, they are used only to reply. If you send a request while signed in, your nickname is recorded as well, and we copy the request into Notion in order to process it. The value derived from your IP is not sent to Notion. Service addition requests can be sent after you sign in, and we show the progress of requests you sent under ‘My requests’.
  • Email address in rights-holder requests (corrections, logo removal and so on): required when you send a request without signing in, and used only to answer that request. It is kept only in the Site database and is not sent to Notion or to notifications.
  • If you sign in: the member number and name (nickname) that Kakao or Google gives us, and the time of your last visit. Used only to recognize that you are the same person and to carry your records over. We do not collect a password or an email address.
  • (Optional, from October 26, 2026) Gender and age group: collected only if you agree on the Kakao or Google screen when signing in. Signing up and using the Site is exactly the same if you do not agree. It is used only for usage statistics that count all members by gender and age group; we do not look at individual members separately and we do not use it for advertising. If we receive a birthday from Google, we use it only to work out an age group (for example, the 20s) and do not store the birthday itself. You can delete these at any time on your account screen.
  • Sign-in attempt log: a value derived from your IP that cannot be reversed, and the time of the attempt. Used only to prevent people from trying other people's accounts.
  • Comments: what you wrote, your nickname and the time you wrote it. Shown on the service screen so that anyone can see it. You can delete your own comments.
  • Advertising (Google AdSense): which screens you viewed and the ad cookies stored in your browser. Used to show ads and to avoid showing the same ad too often. We do not pass on anything that identifies you, such as your name or contact details. Details are in item 6 below.
  • Visit statistics (Google Analytics): which screens you viewed, screen titles, device and browser type, and your approximate region. Used only to see which screens are useful. We do not send what you type in the search box. We also do not send anything that identifies you, such as a member number or nickname. Ad personalization is turned off. From October 26, 2026 we turn on Google signals. If you visit while signed in to a Google account, Google groups that account's gender, age group and interests and shows them only as anonymous statistics; the Site does not receive values for individual people. If you do not want this, turn off personalized ads in your Google account's ad settings and you will be left out.

2. Retention periods

  • Access logs: deleted after 30 days
  • Request box records (including emails in rights-holder requests): deleted 1 year after the request is handled
  • Usage statistics: kept in a form that cannot identify individuals
  • Sign-in information: deleted immediately when you withdraw. Deleted if you do not visit for 2 years
  • Gender and age group (optional): deleted immediately when you delete them on your account screen or withdraw. Deleted together with the account if you do not visit for 2 years
  • Staying signed in (session): expires and is deleted after 30 days
  • Sign-in attempt log: deleted after 1 day
  • Comments: removed from the screen immediately when you delete them, and deleted together with your account when you withdraw
  • Visit statistics (Google Analytics): kept by Google for 14 months, then deleted
  • Ad cookies: stored in your browser and removed immediately when you clear them in the browser

3. Provision to third parties and outsourced processing

We do not sell or provide personal information to others. We do use the services below to run the Site.

  • Server hosting: Vultr (a US company; the server is in Seoul, Korea)
  • Font delivery: jsDelivr (the visitor's IP is passed on when the font files are downloaded)
  • Request processing: Notion (we copy what you wrote in the request and your nickname. Sign-in information and IPs are not sent)
  • Place maps: Kakao (the visitor's IP is passed on when the map is loaded on a place detail screen. We do not use your location)
  • Advertising: Google AdSense (Google, USA). Used to choose and show ads. In the process of loading, the visitor's IP and the address of the screen viewed are passed on to Google.
  • Visit statistics: Google Analytics (Google, USA). Used to count which screens were viewed. In the process of loading, the visitor's IP is passed on to Google, but Google does not store it. If you do not want this, you can install the opt-out add-on made by Google or block cookies in your browser.

4. What is stored only in your browser

When you use the Site without signing in, the items below are stored only in your browser and are not sent to the server. This means they do not appear on other devices and we cannot see them. When you sign in, your viewing history is saved to your account, and what was in the browser is moved to the account and then deleted from the browser.

  • Services you put in the comparison box
  • Screens you recently viewed and how far you got in choosing (used for ‘Continue viewing’ on the home screen)
  • How many times you viewed each topic and your recent search terms (used only to decide the order of the list on the home screen)

They disappear immediately when you press ‘Clear history’ on the home screen or clear the site data in your browser.

5. Cookies

We use a cookie that keeps you signed in, a cookie for visit statistics, and cookies for advertising. The statistics cookie is used only to recognize whether it is the same visit, not to find out who you are. If you block cookies in your browser settings, the statistics and advertising cookies are not stored and you can still use the Site. Signing in does not work if you block cookies.

6. Personalized advertising

We show Google AdSense ads to help cover the cost of running the Site. Google chooses and shows the ads.

  • What is collected: which screens you viewed and the ad cookies stored in your browser.
  • How it is collected: the Google ad snippet on the screen stores cookies in your browser.
  • What it is used for: showing ads closer to your interests and avoiding showing the same ad too often.
  • Retention: cookies are stored in your browser and disappear immediately when you clear them in the browser. How long Google keeps data separately follows Google's policy.
  • What we do not pass on: name, contact details, member number, nickname and what you type in the search box are not used for ads.

You can turn this off if you do not want it. Google ad settings lets you turn off personalized ads, and then ads that do not reflect your interests will be shown. You can also block cookies in your browser. Either way you can keep using the Site.

Google chooses the ads, so we do not know in advance which ones will appear. Also, we do not change comparison results or the order of lists because we received an ad. Ad spots are kept apart from the content and labeled as ads.

7. Your rights

You can ask to view, correct or delete your information. Tell us through the request box and we will handle it without delay. If you are signed in, you can withdraw and delete your records right away on the sign-in screen.

8. Privacy officer

Operator: Pickx operator / Contact: request box

9. When this changes

If this policy changes, we will announce it on this page 7 days before it takes effect. We will revise it again when a review feature is added.
