Video generation (Sora): the Sora app and web service ended on April 26, 2026, and the Sora API ended on September 24, 2026. No official video generation feature is currently confirmed in ChatGPT. Older models such as GPT-4o, GPT-4.5, o3 and GPT-5.1/5.2 have already been retired from ChatGPT. In the API, GPT-4o / GPT-4o mini / GPT-4.1 / GPT-4.1 mini are scheduled to end on January 14, 2027 (announced 2026-10-14), and gpt-6-luna is given as the replacement.

Free: Enough for people who ask the occasional question or polish some writing, and for students trying it for the first time. Everyday chat is effectively unlimited.
Go: For people who often hit the free limits but do not need advanced reasoning. At $8/mo, upload, image and voice limits become generous and you can handle long documents.
Plus: The safest choice for office workers, graduate students and developers who use it for daily work. You can use GPT-6 (Sol) reasoning and GPT-6 Astra in Work/Codex.
