At a glance
NotebookLM is Google's AI research notebook that makes summaries, Q&A, audio/video overviews, slides and quizzes based only on the material you upload, such as PDFs, documents, web pages and YouTube videos. On July 16, 2026 it was renamed Gemini Notebook (notebook.google.com, the old address redirects automatically), and you can also create and sync notebooks inside the Gemini app. It is especially useful for students, researchers and office workers who handle a lot of material.
