At a glance
Liner is a source-based AI search/research service made by the Korean startup Liner. It answers based on web documents and academic papers and attaches a source to every sentence. One subscription covers AI search (Liner), paper research (Liner Scholar) and writing (Liner Write), so it suits students and researchers writing assignments/papers, and office workers who need evidence-backed reports. The domain changed from getliner.com to liner.com, and the mobile app was recently renamed "AI Search & Investing" (which includes investment news analysis).

Which plan to choose
- Free: Students/office workers who occasionally use source-backed search for assignments or reports. Advanced search is unlimited, so it is enough for basic use, but ads are attached.
- Pro: Graduate students/researchers who often upload papers/material PDFs to summarize and want to use GPT/Claude/Gemini together. At about $15 a month with yearly billing, it offers good value.
- Max: Researchers who run Scholar agents such as literature review/hypothesis generation and Deep Research every day, and people who handle many large files.
- Team: Organizations such as labs/consulting teams where 2 to 20 people share it, want to manage billing in one place, and need exclusion from data training.
- Enterprise: University or company-wide adoption that needs audit logs/dedicated support.
- API: Developers who want to add source-based search or paper search to their own service.
