At a glance

Clef is a decision-only model that Cloudflare released on October 1, 2026. It does not generate text, and it picks one of the choices you set in advance and returns the probability of each choice at once. It works the same way as Jev from TypeSafe AI, released in September, but it became a talking point because it is released as Apache 2.0 open source and is compatible with the Jev API. You can call it directly on Workers AI or download it from Hugging Face and run it yourself.
