How billing works

R2 charges for stored volume and two classes of operations. Storage is the monthly average of daily usage (GB-month) on a 30-day period. Source

Free allowance

Free each month for Standard storage: 10GB-month, 1 million Class A and 10 million Class B operations. It does not apply to Infrequent Access. Source

Data transfer out

There are no egress bandwidth charges for any storage class. Source

Easy-to-miss costs

Infrequent Access has cheaper storage but charges for data retrieval. Retrieving 1.1GB bills as 2GB, rounded up. Source

Korea region

Bucket location defaults to Automatic, the closest region to the create request. You can also use location hints or jurisdictional restrictions. Source

Limits

Infrequent Access has a minimum storage duration, and deleting, moving or replacing an object early still bills for the full duration. Source

Data storage per bucket is unlimited. Source
